RSP Manston is supporting Ramsgate FC’s magical winter wonderland, to be held next week, with a £10,000 donation as part of its ongoing support of the club’s work to provide help for children in Thanet who need it most. As well as a Santa’s Grotto and ice rink, there’s hot food, inflatables and entertainment laid on to give young people a fantastic day out and a hot meal.
The project is part of a longer term ambition by the club, led by Chairman James Lawson and Community Officer and First Team Manager Matt Longhurst, to offer valuable life skills and opportunities to young people, alongside sporting and creative fun, in one of England’s most deprived areas.
Tony Freudmann, Director of RSP, said: “It’s impossible not to be excited by Matt’s vision for what the Club can do for its local community and it’s a privilege for RSP Manston to be a part of it. Together with some brilliant volunteers from the local community, we had great fun over half term sharing airport themed crafts, games and education with the young people who attended the holiday camp and we share Matt’s determination to show as many young people as we can the possibilities and opportunities of the world around them. I share his desire to see them achieve their potential and hope that some of them will one day be part of the Manston Airport team, creating jobs and prosperity in their local area for the following generation, just as we helped to create it for them.”
