Manston Airport site sold to RiverOak Strategic Partners Limited
Stone Hill Park Limited (SHP) has agreed to sell all its interests in the Manston Airport site to RiverOak Strategic Partners Limited (RSP). Contracts were exchanged yesterday (Tuesday 2 July) and completion of the purchase is expected to take place early next week.
The site is currently subject to a Development Consent Order (DCO) examination process on proposals by RSP to reopen the airport as a freight hub.

Examination of our proposals for Manston gets underway this week
2019 will be an important year for the future of Manston Airport. This week, on Wednesday 9 January, the Preliminary Meeting for the Development Consent Order application takes place in Margate. Last week, RiverOak Strategic Partners held the third in a series of parliamentary briefings, designed to keep key stakeholders up to date with the progress of the DCO and learn more about RSP’s proposals for reopening Manston.

The Planning Inspectorate has confirmed that the representation period begins today (Monday 3 September) and runs to Monday 8 October. Anyone with an interest in making representations about the application should visit the Planning Inspectorate website, to register as an interested Party.
Manston Airport DCO is first to be accepted for examination

Temporary withdrawal of application
RiverOak Strategic Partners has temporarily withdrawn its DCO application in respect of Manston Airport. This is not uncommon with DCOs and RSP is in dialogue with the Planning Inspectorate in order that the application can be resubmitted as soon as possible.

Almost 900 people attend RiverOak consultation events
Despite some appalling January weather, 870 people attended the two RiverOak consultation events this week, in Ramsgate and Herne Bay, to review its refined plans for Manston Airport and speak with some of the firm’s environmental and planning experts, as well as the RiverOak team, about a wide range of issues – including a proposed Noise Mitigation plan, fully developed Preliminary Environmental Information Report and amended masterplan for the airport.
