Manston Airport DCO is first to be accepted for examination

RiverOak Strategic Partners’ Development Consent Order, for the reopening of Manston Airport in Kent as a major international cargo hub, is the first application for a nationally significant airport project to be accepted for examination by the Planning Inspectorate. The Planning Inspectorate announced its decision on 14 August 2018.

Temporary withdrawal of application

RiverOak Strategic Partners has temporarily withdrawn its DCO application in respect of Manston Airport. This is not uncommon with DCOs and RSP is in dialogue with the Planning Inspectorate in order that the application can be resubmitted as soon as possible.

Almost 900 people attend RiverOak consultation events

Despite some appalling January weather, 870 people attended the two RiverOak consultation events this week, in Ramsgate and Herne Bay, to review its refined plans for Manston Airport and speak with some of the firm’s environmental and planning experts, as well as the RiverOak team, about a wide range of issues – including a proposed Noise Mitigation plan, fully developed Preliminary Environmental Information Report and amended masterplan for the airport.

Thanet risks making flawed Local Plan decision

Planning company RPS and law firm Bircham Dyson Bell have written on behalf of their client RiverOak Strategic Partners (RiverOak) to the Chief Executive of Thanet District Council, Madeline Homer, to set out why a decision to progress the Council’s Local Plan at a full Council meeting on Thursday 18 January would be flawed.
